Painting exhibition by Jūratė Mykolaitytė and Vygantas Paukštė “MAN AND HIS SPACE”
2006 November 10 @ 17:00 - 2006 December 15 @ 12:00
Both Jūratė Mykolaitytė and Vygantas Paukštė are well known painters. They have exhibited their works both internationally and in Lithuania.
“Man and his Space“ show the relationship between surrounding nature and man‘s position in it.
Jūratė Mykolaitytė is known as an urban “užupis“ (“over the river”) painter. Her works are almost monochromatic, yet realistic and at the same time, filled with mystery and nostalgia for the human being’s story and it’s relation to urban life.
The subjects by Vygantas Paukštė are painted in a childlike style and are exhibited in the space without perspective or any other three-dimensional views. The overall effect is one of clarity and easiness. Irrespective of the nature of the situation, be it realistic or mythical, the art overflows with humanity and light humor. The works of different periods were exhibited.
