The Exhibition “Drawing” is presented at Janina Monkute-Marks Museum-Gallery by the artists of the graphic section of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association, Kaunas Branch. Professional graphics, artists present artworks which interpret drawing and painting each in its own exceptional way, using unique techniques and experiences. Drawing is a sketch, drawing is decor, drawing is a line, drawing is an original work of art. All of the artists share common experiences, as well as a single city of studies, home or life – Kaunas.
The author of the idea is Prof. Edmundas Saladzius. For some participants of the exhibition he is a colleague, for others – an associate and a lecturer.
The drawing is an area connecting all the artists in general; it also makes each creation unique and different. Today drawing is discovered anew and should rightfully be equated to other genres of art as an autonomous form of art. Art educators seek to reveal drawing as an essential part of today’s artistic creativity, and as a visual means of expression. Contemporary art directions and forms try to deny the importance of drawing and painting, but it is evident that the drawing is a fundamental basis of the entire field of visual art.
