Contemporary art exhibition “IN WHITE”
2006 January 6 @ 17:00 - 2006 February 24 @ 17:00
Most participants are young artists; their works are united in white (color). White becomes a goal or an illusion, it elevates or depresses you. Through the use of the color white, authors raise social questions, subtly criticize issues, look deep into their surrounding, examine their own relations to it and analyze their own experiences or just play with surfaces in white tones.
A Happening SUGAR was held on before the opening of the exhibit. Authors: Jurga Juodytė and Saulius Leonavičius.
Sweet life is the general goal of everyone; it is defined by pleasure, comfort, luxury, luck and so on. In the Happening SUGAR, artists created Utopia where white sugar – a symbol of a sweet life – was handed out free.
