The project of civil and national education “The Reflections of Folkart in the Works of Janina Monkute-Marks and Contemporary Art“

The project‘s goal to create the lasting educational program of the Museum, which would help the art teachers to introduce the creations of Janina Monkute-Marks to the pupils. The pupils from 27 art schools in Kedainiai, as well as, from Academy Secondary School took part in the project. The project has been started in May, when the pupils were given lectures. In June in Seteniai, the homeland of C. Milosas, the two-day creative camp was organized. Here the art of graphics, including flax cut, modern textile, classical tapestry and ground art, was introduced. The lectures were presented by A. Zemaitiene, the art teacher of Academy Secondary School, V. Pliuskys and E. Vencloviene, the teachers of the Art School, and A. Fedaraviciute, the curator of the Museum. Children themselves created works according to the chosen art form. The participants also visited Kleboniskis Household Museum (Radviliškis District), as well as, the Baisogala estate palace, where the folk symbolism and ornaments were explored and sketches were taken. The pupils from the Academy draw the buildings and the environment of their native town estate palaces. On November 15 the creative exhibition of the works of the project participants was presented at Janina Monkute-Marks Museum-Gallery.
