For deeper analysis of art phenomena, a comparative aspect is always convenient, therefore the works of guests from Latvia, Estonia and Finland, are especially awaited and appreciated. We are glad that the project not only popularizes the glass works form  Baltic and Nordic countries, but also initiates the creativity of this kind of art and influences it’s theoretical analysis along with this years seminar about  the problems faced in the glass art development  nowadays.

The motto of this year “VITRUM BALTICUM IV” is called “NEW AND YOUNG” and it is a direct waymark to the appearance of the young glass artists. And this motto also symbolizes the rising of glass art, as a quite young art branch, in Baltic countries. Furthermore the discourse of glass, as a conceptual art branch, ingenious technological solutions and new ways of unfolding the aspiration in artistic glass. There are different expositions which display various types of art works, such as sculptural and spatial plastic forms and installations. Therefore this exhibition appears to be a great environment for various artists from different generations for displaying their innovative creations. In art project “VITRUM BALTICUM IV. NEW AND YOUNG” are participating glass artists from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland (totally 45 artists). In Kedainiai there are shown works of 18 artists.

VITRUM BALTICUM is intended to be organized further, invoking new ideological aspects. It is obvious, that this exhibition helps people to realize the changing view of modern glass art in Baltic and Northern countries.  This view reflects the essential plastic trends and priorities of nowadays and lets us to convey and assess glass art situation among neighbor countries and motivates unique and intensively authorial   development of glass art.
