European Night of Museums “VISIBLE – INVISIBLE”
Different media artists: Laura Pavilonyte, Neringa Kūlokaitė, Donatas Dovidavičius and Andrius Siderkevičius presented their installations and participate in-group happenings. During the celebration, we operated a lantern workshop next to the museum. All the visitors young and old were able to make their own lanterns. Materials were provided. Also, we were inviting everybody to bring his or her own homemade lantern. The most beautiful ones were awarded. Lanterns were lighted when the shadows were not seen anymore. Youth Project “VAI KYTRA KYTRA. Lithuanian Folk ornaments and colour relationships in young artist creations”
The goal of the projection was to nurture creativity while rediscovering folk art traditions.Young students got acquainted with the ornamentation and color relationships of folk art. It is importan for these students to find a correlation between professional contemporary artists and the folk art.
